Police Industrial Technology was founded with one mission: to improve officer safety through realistic, reliable, and affordable vehicle-intervention training tools. Our story began in California’s Central Valley, partnering directly with the Fresno Police Department on a training bumper design project that would ultimately reshape training for hundreds of officers over the next fourteen years.
Over a Decade of Success
In the summer of 2011, the Fresno Police Department opened a state-of-the-art, $15 million regional training facility. As we collaborated with their team, it became clear that the training bumpers available on the market were falling short—too heavy, too bulky, and not representative of real patrol vehicle performance.
Through extensive research, testing, and collaboration with Fresno PD’s EVOC instructors, we engineered a lightweight PIT bumper specifically crafted for real-world performance. Unlike older steel-heavy options, our design allows for full-speed pursuit training on EVOC courses while reducing strain on the vehicle and improving maneuverability.
For more than a decade the Fresno Police Department has used our training bumpers with outstanding results—enhancing training realism, lowering long-term costs, and improving officer preparedness.
